Some publishers aim for a 'house style'. Green Bottle Press, intriguingly, does the opposite: you're never quite sure what you'll get from their pamphlets, but you can always be confident the work will be carefully edited, seemingly without a single misjudged word, and presented with care. We were impressed by the confidence and polish of these debut pamphlets, as well as the diversity of styles and subject-matter: from Will Pittam's beautiful, grounded and wryly wistful poems of male friendship in Well Done, Lads, to Shakeema Edwards's reflections on family and culture in the lush and light-footed Recipe for Leaving, to Clíodhna Bhreatnach's deadpan, distractible and utterly modern-feeling Pink roses, green.
